Chrysalis Massage & Bodywork is operated by Susan Shields,
a New York State licensed Massage Therapist in practice
in New York City for over 15 years. She is a member of ABMP
(Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals) and currently
maintains a private practice, mostly working with clients
in their homes in Manhattan and Brooklyn. She also works
out of an office on the Upper East Side in Manhattan two
days per week.
Ms.
Shields became interested in massage and bodywork while
living and working in Hong Kong where she studied at The
International Acupuncture & Chinese Medicine Research Institute.
Back in New York she attended The Swedish Institute School
of Massage & Allied Health Sciences.
Since
graduating from The Swedish Institute in 1990, Ms. Shields
has attended many post-graduate workshops and classes, including:

The Upledger Institute, Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Traditional Thai Massage at
the Thai Massage School of Chiang Mai and at ITM
Institute of Thai Massage, both in Chiang Mai, Thailand.
Trigger Point Therapy/Deep Tissue Massage through
The Chicago School of Massage.
